Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday,” with only four short teasers, has fans already excited for the upcoming film, with some speculating the teasers are not just any marketing, but are slowly revealing the plot to the audience.
Ever since the announcement that “Avengers: Doomsday” is set to release Dec. 18, 2026, there have been a series of teasers that have announced many joining the film’s cast.
Cast members announced in the teaser included Chris Evans returning to the role of Captain America, the original X-Men from the Fox Universe, and the cast members Marvel announced during the “Avengers: Doomsday” live stream.
These fan theories started to pop up online when the directors of the film, Joseph and Anthony Russo, widely known as the Russo brothers, took to their Instagram and posted the teaser with a caption that sent fans into speculating their own theories.
“What you’ve been watching for the last four weeks… are not teasers. Or trailers. They are stories. They are clues… Pay attention,” the Russo brothers said in an Instagram post.
This led fans on social media to believe that the teasers were part of something larger.
According to IGN, a popular entertainment news site, many fans have developed theories, such as the time stamp theory, which explains how, after every teaser, they show a specific code that leads to a timestamp of a specific scene in “Avengers: Doomsday.”
Some students at Rancho Cucamonga High School gave their opinions on the theories surrounding the film.
“I feel like some of these theories online are a little bit of a reach, but I heard one where it involved the children of superheroes, like Mr. Fantastic’s son, because he is supposed to be really powerful in the comics,” senior Peyton Machado said.
There have also been theories about the cameos and characters that will show up in the film.
Some have theorized that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man will return and will have an important role in the film
Other students at RCHS, like junior Aiden Borrego, discussed who he would be excited to see on the day of the release.
“I’m excited to see who is going to be in it. I already know about the X-Men, I think it would be cool to see Hugh Jackman as a wolverine, there was a rumor that Nicholas Cage could come back as Ghost Rider,” Borrego said.
No matter how “Avengers: Doomsday” ends up, there is no doubt that it will be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2026 and a turning point for Marvel going forward.
