In part of the Disneyland After Dark events, Star Wars Nites comes back to the theme park in 2026. Being hosted from the following dates: April 28 and 30, and May 4 and 6, the park plans to bring back all the special experiences associated with the franchise.
With early entry starting at 6 p.m., the times for each day will be after-hours, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fans should expect to see exclusive characters such as Queen Amidala, Darth Maul, and various droids throughout Tomorrowland and Galaxy’s Edge. There will also be themed menu items available during the event for fans to enjoy throughout their night.
Tickets for the event cost $170 per ticket. Similar to other events, such as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, people are questioning whether attending is worth the price Disney is charging fans. Rancho Cucamonga High School junior Camilla Schroer shared her perspective on the topic.
“Even though it costs a lot, I think it’s worth it. I think that every Star Wars fan should go at least once in their life. It’s a time when you can be with others who appreciate this franchise,” said Schroer.
Junior Gabriella Nagib shared a similar sentiment, noting that the value of the experience is subjective to each fan and their level of interest in the franchise.
“I think it depends on how big a Star Wars fan you are. For me, I think it would be worth it because I truly love the franchise, and being around other people who enjoy the same things is an amazing experience. The atmosphere is unique, and with the right people, it would be incredibly fun,” said Nagib
For many fans, their connection to Star Wars began early. Nagib recalled being introduced to the franchise by her father, who encouraged her to watch the films. On the other hand, Schroer was introduced through her uncle.
“He had been trying to get us into it forever, and we finally did in 2020. We started the first episode, and it was like I entered into a whole new world. I now love all things Star Wars,” Schroer said.
When asked about their preferences within the franchise, the two of them were split, with differing opinions between the light and dark side of the force.
“I say light side because I always try to find the good in people and want to help people as much as I can. Plus, I’d want a blue lightsaber,” said Schroer.
However, the appeal of the franchise isn’t just found in its heroes. For others, the complexity of the antagonists provides a deeper draw to the story, with Nagib finding herself in the more shadowed corners of the galaxy.
On the other hand, “I would choose the dark side because the characters are more interesting and have more complex stories. They’re not just good or bad,” said Nagib.
