Following yet another win from their previous season, the Los Angeles Dodgers kept their winning streak for a second year in a row after winning the World Series.
Both teams headed into game seven, knowing one team would be the World Series Champion. Both teams knew this would be the most important game of the season. Both teams struggled scoring in the first two innings, but the Blue Jays managed to put the first three runs on the board when Bo Bichette hit a three-run home run.
Teoscar Hernandez for the Dodgers responded in the same inning by hitting a sacrifice fly ball to score Will Smith, making the score 3-1. The Dodgers came back in the sixth inning, scoring more runs with Tommy Edman hitting a sacrifice fly ball to center field, scoring Mookie Betts, trying to take the lead. Andrés Giménez for the Blue Jays responded by hitting a double in the gap, scoring Ernie Clement in the bottom of the sixth inning, increasing the score 4-2. The Dodgers came back with Max Muncy hitting a home run to close the gap 3-2 in the eighth inning.

In the top of the ninth inning, Miguel Rojas hit a home run to tie the game and forced the game into extra innings. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Rojas made a game-saving play that could’ve potentially cost the Dodgers the World Series. Both teams struggled to score in the tenth inning, but then in the 11th inning, Will Smith hit a home run to take the lead, potentially having the chance to win the World Series. The Blue Jays struggled to score at the bottom of the inning, leading to the Dodgers winning the 2025 World Series.
Business tech teacher Mr. Chris Van Duin commented on the Dodgers this season.
“I have been a Dodger fan for 57 years. The Dodgers making it to the World Series is always good for LA, always brings out a lot of city pride, so I’m excited. I feel like they’ve assembled a lot of All Stars, so in the modern era, it’s a dominant team with great pitching,” said Van Duin. “Previous Dodger teams were built through the farm club and the farm system, so it’s a very different feel. I think Ohtani is going to be the MVP for the Dodgers.”
In the 2024 season, the Dodgers went on to defeat the Yankees, winning the 2024 World Series, defeating New York in five games. The Blue Jays’ last appearance was winning the 1993 World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Blue Jays came into this season wanting redemption from last season, where they finished last in the AL East with a record of 74-88.
The Blue Jays went into the 2025 season starting off strong, but later in the season, they had a slump, leading to a seven-game losing streak. Although there were bullpen issues with pitchers having over a 5.0 ERA, they didn’t let the losses get to them and finished the season strong, allowing them to clinch a playoff spot and make it to the World Series.
The Dodgers came into this season wanting to win the World Series back-to-back, with players who have never won the World Series. Although their 2025 season started rough, with the bullpen having injuries and pitchers having a high walk rate, they didn’t let the losses get to them. The Dodgers came back to clinch a playoff spot that allowed them to make it to the World Series.

“I have been a Dodgers fan since I was five years old. I think it’s huge, especially for LA, and other Dodgers fans. I think this year’s team has better coaches, hitters and batters have been getting better over the years,” junior Adrian Moreno said. “I think the MVP for the Dodgers is going to be Yamamoto.”
Pre-calculus teacher Mr. Rogelio Barraza felt similarly, noting that pitching has been the Dodgers’ greatest strength so far and should help them win the World Series.
“I grew up in Highland Park, a few blocks away from Dodger Stadium, so since I was a kid. I’m really excited after not making the World Series for a long time,” said Barraza. “A lot of hope for us to win it this year, our bats haven’t woken up but still a pretty good team. The greatest strength has been their pitching. I think the MVP for the Dodgers is going to be Freddie Freeman.
The Dodgers started the series in Blue Jays territory, with Blake Snell pitching for the Dodgers, and Trey Yesavage pitching for the Dodgers. The Dodgers scored the first run of the game with Kike Hernandez hitting an RBI single, scoring Teoscar Hernandez, making the score 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning. The Dodgers kept attacking, scoring more runs in the third inning with Will Smith getting a single to right field, scoring Mookie Betts, and moving the runners over.
The Blue Jays responded back with Daulton Varsho hitting a home run to tie the game 2-2 in the top of the fourth inning. Both teams were quiet in the fifth inning, but the Blue Jays quickly responded, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, making the score 11-2. The Dodgers came back with Shohei Ohtani hitting a two-run home run, making the final score 11-4.
Headed into game two, the Dodgers started off the game with Yoshinobu Yamamoto as their starting pitcher. The Dodgers scored the first run in the top of the first inning, making the score 1-0. Both teams kept having scoreless innings until the top of the seventh inning when the Dodgers hit two home runs, making it 3-1. The Dodgers kept attacking, scoring two more runs in the top of the eighth inning, increasing the score 5-1. The Blue Jays had two scoreless innings, causing them to lose game 2.
With the series tied 1-1, both teams were looking to take the lead, not knowing this would turn into a six-hour and 39-minute defensive game. Both the Dodgers and the Blue Jays were silent in the first inning, until the bottom of the second inning Teoscar Hernández hit a homerun, taking the lead 1-0. The Dodgers came back in the next inning scoring one more run to increase the score to 2-0. The Blue Jays responded with Alejandro Kirk hitting a three-run home run, and Andrés Gimémez hitting a sacrifice fly out to center field, scoring Addison Barger to take the lead 4-2.

The Dodgers quickly responded, scoring two runs to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Neither team could score in the sixth inning, but the Blue Jays and Dodgers both scored one run to keep the game tied, ending the seventh inning. Both teams were silent, not knowing who would score first to potentially win the game, leading to this game going into extra innings. Both teams had struggled scoring until the bottom of the 18th inning where Freddie Freeman, being the lead-off hitter, hit a walk-off home run and won the game for the Dodgers.
The Dodgers headed into game four having home-field advantage, with the series being 2-1. The Dodgers put the first run on the board, making the score 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning. The Blue Jays quickly responded back with Vladimir Guerrero Jr hitting a two-run home run, taking the lead 2-1 in the top of the third. Both teams were silent until the seventh inning, where the Blue Jays scored four runs, making it 6-1. The Dodgers responded back in the ninth inning, scoring one run, but it wasn’t enough to force the game into extras, causing the Blue Jays to win game four, and tying the series 2-2.
Headed into game five, both teams looked to take the lead in the series. The Blue Jays started off strong with Davis Schneider hitting a lead-off home run to start off the game, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr hitting a back-to-back home run to make the score 2-0 in the top of the first inning. The Dodgers responded back in the bottom of the third with Enrique Hernandez hitting a home run to make the score 2-1. The Blue Jays came back, increasing the score 3-1 in the top of the fourth inning. The Blue Jays kept increasing the score, scoring two runs in the seventh inning and one run in the eighth inning, making the score 6-1. The Dodgers couldn’t score any runs, leading to the Blue Jays to win game five.
The Blue Jays headed into game six, having home-field advantage, with the series being 3-2. Both teams were silent for the first two innings until the Dodgers scored three runs in the top of the third. The Blue Jays responded back the same inning, scoring one run in the bottom of the third, making the score 3-1. Both teams struggled trying to score, causing the Blue Jays to lose game six, leading to a Dodgers victory to win and tie the series 3-3, which meant whichever team won game seven would be the World Series Champion.
