The RCHS girls basketball team is in the midst of a victorious season. Since the very beginning of the season, girls basketball has had many triumphs, including defeating Norco High School, Diamond Ranch High School, Romona High School, and Patriot High School so far.

“I think we have potential for CIF,” varsity basketball player, Yazmeen Corbett said. “I think we’re doing good, hopefully, we will go to championships!”

As of Friday, Jan. 20, the girls varsity basketball team was at 12-11 division. At the time of print, the JV team had a 5-12 record.

The season started Nov. 18, 2022, in Fontana against Citrus Valley. Girls basketball has improved tremendously since the start of the season.

“We need to keep our heads up,” said varsity basketball player, Kathren Tawadrous. “We make mistakes, and we really shouldn’t get sad over them.”

Corbett, Lulu Allen, and Gaby Duke have made many points throughout the season.

“A good game that we had was against Upland, we went to the game thinking it was going to be a hard game, but we ended up winning!” said Tawadrous.

RCHS girls Basketball defeated Upland in the cougar stadium on Jan. 20 with an overall score of 37-28. They are now in the 12-11 division and 2-3  Baseline league as of Jan. 20, 2023.

“We are all so excited and proud of ourselves as a team whenever we score,” Corbett said.
