“Part of Our World” RCHS Homecoming theme

It’s about that time, students at Rancho Cucamonga High School are preparing for the 2023 homecoming dance. This year’s theme has just been announced, “Part of Your World.” The homecoming dance will take place Saturday, Sept. 9, at RCHS.

Students in ASB, student achievement, and woodshop have put in several hours to ensure that our dance will be a night to remember. The ASB team has had this night in the works for quite some time, they proposed and decided on a theme inspired by “The Little Mermaid” last school year.

“Due to the recent hype and popularity of ‘The Little Mermaid’ remake, we thought it would be really cool because this movie was a remake of something that has always been so nostalgic for us growing up,” senior and ASB President Macie Bishop said.

Every year the student body puts on a new theme. However, the agenda remains the same: to have a good time.

“Students can expect a major wow factor. We are trying to bring back a lot of spirit and hype for our school’s culture,” said Bishop. “Students can definitely expect to be wowed because we are working very hard to give them something they have never seen before.”

Guests attending the dance can expect live music, drinks and snacks, a photo booth, but most importantly, a magical underwater experience.

Many students of all grade levels plan on attending this year’s dance as well as following this year’s theme. The freshman class is very excited to attend their first ever homecoming and to experience the spirit and culture that is Rancho.

“I think it’s going to be fun,” freshman Isaiah Joyner said. “I have never been to one before so I am excited.”
