Biology might seem like a tough subject at first, and can seem overwhelming; however, in Mr. Timothy Wagner’s class, it feels different. The room is filled with energy and curiosity. Through hands-on labs and engaging discussions, students start to realize that learning about life can actually be exciting.
“I really enjoyed the subject matter, and when I was in college, I tutored people. I just got a love for teaching,” Mr. Wagner said.
He wasn’t lying about his love for biology. He truly enjoys helping students understand and appreciate science.
He shared that his favorite topic to teach is the human body systems.
“It’s important for students to know how their bodies work,” Wagner said. “For many, this might be their only biology class, so I want them to learn something useful about themselves.”
That passion for making lessons meaningful shows in how he teaches every day.
Students mentioned how much they enjoyed his class.
“Our teacher makes it really fun with the labs,” freshman Trust Jackson said.
Students say that the class is fun and active. They enjoy doing experiments and working together, which makes learning more interesting. It’s a mix of hands-on work and teamwork that helps students stay focused and enjoy what they’re learning.
“I like working with my friends during group projects,” freshman Alexis Marty said.
Students admitted that biology isn’t always an easy class. Keeping up with the work and studying for tests takes effort, but most of them said they manage by staying organized and using their class notes. Many students remembered their favorite labs, like testing reactions with iodine or building protein models.
Mr. Wagner’s class is about more than just biology. It’s about exploring, asking questions, and realizing that science isn’t something students learn, it’s a part of who they are every day.
