CSUSB extended applications to end of January

California State University San Bernadino extends application period

The Cal State University application process began as early as October 1, and closed as of November 30. This process has been very stressful for seniors and has been a big worry. However, CSUSB reopened the application process, extending the deadline to January 31. This extended deadline allowed students who missed their chance to take advantage of this amazing academic opportunity.

Rancho Cucamonga High School and the California State University of San Bernardino have a direct connection, which allows seniors at RCHS to not only apply to the university but also be guaranteed automatic admission.

Rancho Cucamonga High School has an MOU application agreement with Cal State San Bernardino, therefore making the connection with students via the college easier.

“It’s really great to see that CSU is extending their deadline, it gives more people a chance to apply,” senior Taryn Ababo said.

Two representatives from Cal State San Bernardino outreach and admissions came to Rancho Cucamonga High School to help those who were planning on applying. For the students who did attend, they were about to completely create their CSU application if they hadn’t already and submit a Cal State San Bernardino application in about an hour.

“You can do work online, and some students are very successful with the give me the computer and I will go through the steps, but when you have someone who knows how to utilize the system, knows what you need to do to get the most success out of that system, and then guides you in a personal manner, that is the best option you could possibly have,” Mr. Jeremy Hensan, Assistant Principal of Achievement, said.
