On Sept. 8 members of the creative club had a virtual meeting with the author Francesca Zappia. Aside from her books, they talked about her life as an author and her inspiration.

Students asked what her favorite types of books were and what she does to get inspired.

On the video call, Zappia shared two bookcases full of her favorite titles with the members of the club. Some of the titles Zappia shared as some of her favorites included “Dune” by Frank Herbert and several horror novels.

Zappia is a known author with three published books. She has a book coming out in 2023 titled “Greymist Fair.” Some of Zappia’s other books are “Eliza and Her Monsters,” “Made You Up,” and, “Now Entering Adamsville.”

According to Zappia, her book “Eliza and Her Monsters” is inspired by her struggle with anxiety.

Zappia’s newest book is a horror book titled “Katzenjammer.” This title was released on June 2022, and it is about a cat who is searching for a way to escape high school.

The members of the Creative Writing Club enjoyed the virtual meeting with the author. “I felt very inspired because she is a very good writer,” freshman and Creative Writing Club member Rosie Flenniken said.
