Students from Los Osos High School, Etiwanda High School, and Rancho Cucamonga High School gathered at a Jesus Club Rally on Friday, Sept. 26, at RCHS. The RCHS Jesus club helped plan the Rally with worldwide Jesus Clubs to worship God and build a stronger connection to him.
During this rally, several national speakers from the official, worldwide Jesus Clubs attended and gave prayers. Joe, a speaker from the worldwide Jesus Clubs tour team, came to the stage first and did a rap with words that were given to him for a lighthearted, fun game.
Josh, another speaker from the Jesus Clubs tour team, said he was delighted to be there as one of the speakers and thought the rally went pleasantly.
“Amazing. It was beautiful. God moved in amazing ways, so many testimonies are just like kids who even had suicidal thoughts or going through depression, they got to open up about it, and we got to pray for them,” Josh said.
Another Jesus Club tour team member, Caitlin, was one of the speakers who shared her story. She shared that she used to be depressed and on the verge of committing suicide, but then she spoke about how God saved her and watched over her life the whole time. Caitlin was saved and appreciates everything He has done.
Kyah was the second speaker, and she talked about her story as well. She had horrible anxiety throughout her high school years, and all she knew and was taught was God. She then changed her life and turned it over to God.
After the speakers, the team members led the audience in worship and prayer. Many students volunteered to be prayed for. Afterward, pizza was served.
Many students said they enjoyed the rally.
“I think the rally went great. There were a lot of powerful messages, worship was powerful. Today was amazing. I loved it. I felt connected to God today,” junior Malcolm Whitehead said.
Members of the Jesus Club board said they were ecstatic that they could have such amazing people at their rally. Junior Akshita said she loved the rally.
“The rally was amazing and a lot of people showed up, and I feel like every single person who came here wasn’t just here because they didn’t have anything else to do, they really were here for God,” Akshita stated.
The board members were looking forward to seeing other schools show up, like EHS and LOHS. Jesus Club adviser, Mr. Chris Van Duin, was happy to see people show up and praise God.
