The Rancho Cucamonga High School girls flag football team has battled to an 8-7 record this season, showing resilience despite several losses. Senior Jada Lavender has led the offense with consistent production in receiving yards and touchdowns, while senior Gianna Carrillo has anchored the defense with key stops to help the Cougars win. The team has continued to demonstrate growth throughout the season, proving they can contend with strong opponents across the league.
On Tuesday, Sept. 9, RCHS defeated Santiago High School with a final score of 33-27. RCHS junior Lizzie Brown was dominant, rushing for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries while also throwing 204 yards for three touchdowns. On defense, Carrillo got six sacks against the Sharks, helping the Cougars continue their win streak.
The Cougars’ win streak was broken on Sept. 16 by Upland High School in their second Baseline League game, losing with a final score of 0-27. The team plays again on Sept. 22 against Los Osos High School.
