Rancho Cucamonga High School celebrated its annual Homecoming Spirit Week Sept. 8 to Sept. 12, leading up to the Homecoming dance on Saturday, Sept. 13. This year’s theme is inspired by the movie “The Greatest Showman,” bringing elements of circus and color as students dressed up for the themed spirit days coordinated by ASB.
The week began on Monday, Sept. 8, with “A Million Dreams,” where students wore pajamas to school. On Tuesday, Sept. 9, students dressed up as their favorite celebrities and carried digital cameras for “Light, Camera, Circus.”
When asked about which dress-up day was her favorite, senior and ASB Director of Campus Equity, Hallie Fritz said, “Definitely the celebrity one, dressing up as Adam Sandler [was my favorite], it was definitely the most comfy one.”
Wednesday, Sept. 10, featured “This is Me,” where students were encouraged to display their identity and individuality by wearing sports gear, club shirts, or flag colors. Thursday, Sept. 11, was “Outrageous Oddites,” a partner day where students dress the opposite of their partners.
The week ended on Friday, Sept. 12, concluding with “This is the Greatest Show.” Students wore gold and animal print in the spirit of the Homecoming rally.
“They get people involved, and it shows us that people do care about our campus culture. They enjoy coming to school to participate in these events,” Fritz said.
