The Rancho Cucamonga High School girls softball team for the 2024-2025 season has a 10-14 overall record and they are ranked fifth in the Baseline League. In a recent game on Friday, April 25, against Upland High School, the Highlanders defeated the Cougars 4-14.
Many of the girls have had some favorite games which they played strongly in.
Junior Amanda Wise said her best moment was against Oak Hills High School because she played her very best.
“My best moment was against Oak Hills where I went 5-5 and almost hit for the cycle, we also got the dub,” Wise said.
The Cougars last game of the season was on Monday, May 6, against Chino Hills High School along with it being a league game. The Chino Hills Huskies defeated the cougars 3-12. The girls have had some tough battles that they have faced this season with one of them being against King High School.
Junior Sam Smith said the best game the team played this season was against Alta Loma High School because they were down early in the game but were able to score some runs to take the win.
“In the game against Alta Loma we were down and pulled through 6 runs in the last inning to win the game,” Smith said.
Smith also said that the hardest game that they played was against King High School.
“Our hardest game was against King, and we faced good pitching and great defense. Everyone has an active bat regardless of our pitching changes,” Smith said.
The girls said they had an amazing season and that even though they ended their season with a loss and not how they wanted, they are still proud of themselves and their team.
