Seniors, grab your caps and gowns! It’s a wrap on the 2024-2025 school year. As the soon-to-be graduates of Rancho Cucamonga High School prepare for their next step in life, they reflect on their most precious moments during their final high school year.

“My favorite moment from senior year has to be the football games,” senior Kinton Bajwa said. “Seeing everyone having fun no matter who you’re next to, it was a great vibe and so fun talking to people that you don’t normally talk to.”

Bajwa proceeded to explain how this moment made him feel.

“This moment felt so genuine,” Bajwa said. “Everyone was there to have fun, it wasn’t forced or anything, and it is just such a great atmosphere. It for sure made me a little more appreciative to come to this school and see how friendly everyone is.”

While some seniors really enjoyed the Friday night football games, many enjoyed other activities and events.

“My favorite moment of senior year was definitely closing night of ‘Into The Woods’ because everything was perfect,” senior Caroline Quanstrom said. “That night, everyone, including myself, gave their best performances; the audience was amazing. It was my favorite role, I made my costume, and it was my last show.”

For seniors, theater and drama, or working behind the scenes on the sets, seem to have had an outstanding impact for those involved.

“My favorite moment of my senior year definitely has to be working on ‘Into the Woods’ as part of tech,” senior Kaley Espiridion said. “This moment has impacted me as it broke me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to explore theater for the first time. I used to be afraid to work on productions out of fear of performing, but it is safe to say that I love theater, and the drama department has made me feel so welcome in the program.”

Senior Marko Plascencia also shared his favorite moment of his senior year.

“My favorite moment of senior year was being on Prom Court because I was able to make unforgettable memories and be able to experience being on court with my other friends,” said Plascencia. “It was an experience that I’ll never forget, and I’ll definitely tell my kids about it one day.”

Plascencia continued to describe how this experience made him feel.

“It definitely made me feel so grateful because I was able to see all of the people around me supporting me,” said Plascencia. “I was able to just have so much fun with people who I know love me and people that I love as well.”

As these students travel down memory lane, they revisit fond moments that they’ll miss the most.

“I will definitely miss going to dances with my friends,” Espiridion said. “Events like Homecoming are what I will miss about my senior year.”

Senior Javier Vasquez also expressed what he’ll miss most about his last year.

“I’ll miss my friends the most because I probably won’t see them as much because of college,” Vasquez said.

While these students ready themselves for what’s next in life, they take time to appreciate the people who have been there for them through it all.

“During the Prom rally, I had my mom by my side, and it was such an amazing moment because she’s always been by my side, so, just to see her every step of the way made me feel very happy,” Plascencia said.

Senior Harley Mathews also shared who has been by her side.

“I will definitely say my friends Tiancum, Raymond, Kyle, Jayden, Journie, and Lyric have been there, and always have been so supportive,” Mathews said.

Mathews continued to speak about how this year impacted her.

“Starting new beginnings and stepping out of my comfort zone opened new and bigger opportunities for me to discover a better version of myself and learn new things that I can use for my future,” Mathews said.
