Students at Rancho Cucamonga High School shared what they thought was the best pet to have in their homes.
“I like hamsters,” freshman Cillian Pring said. “Many pets are hard to take care of because of the complications of their needs. For example, dogs are great, but you have to pick up after them and clean them. What’s great about hamsters is that not only are they cute but they are way easier to clean up after and take care of.”
While some people may prefer smaller animals like hamsters, others like to keep it traditional and stick to man’s best friend.
“Dogs are the best house pets for many reasons. They are fun to play with, they are easy to understand, and can be great when you’re sad,” freshman Lexie Johnson said.
Although there are many different choices and opinions about what pet is the best for your home, it all comes down to what you’re looking for in your pet. Choosing the best house pet all depends on what you’re missing in your home. Dogs give loyalty and a strong friendship, while cats provide a low-maintenance, cute companion.
Smaller pets like hamsters, rabbits, and mice are perfect for people with a lower budget and a smaller space for their pet. These smaller animals can be easier to take care of and a lot less maintenance compared to animals like cats and dogs.
