On Wednesday, Feb. 26, the girls and boys swim season started against Woodcrest Christian High School. The varsity girls earned a total of 110 points during the meet, and the varsity boys earned a total of 127 points. JV boys earned 102 points by the end of the meet and JV girls earned 117 points.
Girls captain and junior Audrey Lee said being captain for the 2025 season means so much to her.
“Being a captain for the ‘25 season means so much to me knowing that I am a leader to my team. I want to encourage and benefit the swim team as much as I can this year,” said Lee.
The team is looking forward to performing well throughout the season, making it to CIF, and having as much fun as possible.
Senior Megan Medina placed first in two events: the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. Sophomore Anastasya Gamboa also won first in two events: the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.
Boys captain and senior Austin Chen said that being captain for the 2025 season means providing the team with strength and supporting them.
“To me, being a swim captain for the 25’ season means not only leading the team at practices and meets but also to motivate my teammates inside and outside of the pool,” said Chen.
Freshman Logan Rimando took first place in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke. Junior Josh Salgado placed first in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly.
