4. 13 Going On 30 (2004)

Transported to a new world, Jenna finds herself captured in her dream life. Nice apartment, cute celebrity boyfriend, and an amazing job working at the Poise Magazine headquarters. Still stuck in her 13-year-old mindset, Jenna believes adult life is easy and fun, but when problems begin to hit the fan, she starts to miss her old life…especially her old best friend Matt Flamhaff, whom she called Matty. When reunited as adults, he begins to jog her memory on life since her 13th birthday, and she realizes how awful she’s treated him over the years, all to just fit in. As time goes by, he and Jenna spend more time together and she starts to acquire feelings for Matt…all in too little time, as he is engaged to another woman. Moral of the movie: appreciate and recognize the good things you have in life; don’t waste time chasing what doesn’t chase you back. (Spoiler alert, this movie has a good ending, don’t worry.)

While on this trip, Sophie begins to fall for Charlie, but what to do? Should she call off her wedding to Victor and run off into the Italian countryside with her new love interest? Or leave Italy and follow through with her wedding? Decisions, decisions.

In the seven years that pass, Noah leaves their small town to serve in World War 2, and Allie becomes involved with another man and soon gets engaged to him. But, when Noah returns after the war ends, he and Allie are reunited once again and it is plain to see that their once vibrant love has not dwindled in frequency.
