RCHS cross country wins Mt. SAC
The Rancho Cucamonga High Schools cross country teams competed in the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invite on Saturday, Oct. 22. The girls team came out on top, finishing first place overall in the invitational. The boys team placed second.
“The girls won the Sweepstakes title, stopping Great Oak’s high school stretch of 12 straight division one sweeps titles,” girls cross country coach Lizette Carrell said.
The race, which was presented by Nike, takes place every year at Mount San Antonio College. The first race started at 7:30 a.m., and it ended around 10:36.
“Both teams ran very well this weekend, and both placed high in their races,” Carrell said. “The girls team had five runners in the top 11 out of 95 runners in the race and ran away with the Sweepstakes title.”
The results on the race for girls was 38 points for Rancho Cucamonga High School, 93 points for Great Oak High School and 110 points for Torrey Pines High School.
The boys final scores was 61 points for Camarillo High School, 65 points for Rancho’s boys cross country and 95 points for Riverside High School.
