RCHS staff competes in annual dodgeball game
Rancho Cucamonga High School staff members held their annual dodgeball competition on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022 during both lunches in the Main Quad.
Staff members who participated in the games consisted primarily of teachers. Mostly physical education teachers played, while others were some that taught a variety of different subjects, such as math or technical education.
Although the majority of the competitors were P.E. teachers, the other staff members showed determination in gaining victories throughout the games.
When asked how prepared he was, Physical Education student teacher A
nthony Harris said he learned about the event at the last minute.
“I just found out about it today. So [I was] not really prepared,” Harris said.
Harris is completing his student teacher with Mr. Rangi Smart, one of the P.E. teachers at Rancho Cucamonga High School.
Harris said he felt pretty good about the event.
“If I’m on Mr. Smart’s team, I’m pretty confident,” Harris said.
Many of the students who watched the staff compete against one another were surprised by their performance.
Freshman Noah James Lazaga said he was really surprised with the staff’s athletic abilities.
“I’m surprised they’re doing, like, really good, and like they’re throwing [the dodgeballs] really fast,” Lazaga said.
