Ms. Malone, the new AP of Instruction, is excited to join the RCHS staff.

Rancho High School welcomes its new Assistant Principal of Instruction, Ms. Susan Malone. The Cat’s Eye staff had the opportunity to speak with her about upcoming plans and her excitement for this school year.

During the discussion, The Cat’s Eye staff had the chance to talk about her background and why she became an educator, all contributing to her journey of becoming Assistant Principal.

When asked why she became an educator, Malone said, “I come from a long line of educators so it’s always been in my blood.”

Malone mentioned growing up in a house of seven and her decision to attend Redlands Community College. She then went on to major in English at Cal State Fullerton and received her master’s degree from Cal State San Bernardino.

Malone said she believed that her impact on students could be greater if she impacted teachers as well. This is what inspired her to become an assistant principal.

This year, she said she’s looking forward to working with teachers, and focusing on curriculum.

When asked what she hopes to achieve this year Malone said, “I hope to learn a lot this year and help achieve consistency within the departments.”

“My first experience here at Rancho was 10 years ago, and I’m happy to be back,” said Malone.

Malone mentioned how she enjoys the energy the campus has to offer.
